I dont' know if I would trust a small business like this one. Just because I've had experiences where if it doesn't work, you only get store credit, and then you don't know when the store will actually close down...so to each their own.

Cool deal :) I've been looking into getting XBOX360 though, and I've heard many horror stories of them overheating, dying on people for no apparent reason, and somehow wrecking game discs. So I would probably feel safest getting it brand new.

Ibtl?
Why? Derek already checked it out and found no evidence of foul play.

i think a refurbed xbox is bad news.
but the good thing is microsofts new warranty repair. so I guess if you send it in now, they will fix it and give you a new one year warranty..... but a repair costs like $150 or something.

Friend of mine paid $80 for his off-warranty console repair. Got a full one year warranty and a new console (they only ship new consoles in Canada apparently)
This isn't bad considering I paid $50 to buy their 2 year extended warranty. He essentially got a new console after 15 months use and an additional 1 year warranty for $80

MS's new warranty on repairs is they replace you w/ a new console now? ... so no more refurb replacements?

This could be a good deal if you can still buy the 2-year warranty directly from MS. I would not buy the extended warranty from wisebuy though.

I have sent in over 7 Xbox 360's to microsoft for repair due to the ring of death problem and they sent me all new Xbox 360s with current manufacturing dates (eg, had a few with Nov, Dec 2005 date codes with Hitachi drives and I got new Dec 2006 versions with samsung drives)
The only problem is the warranty is good from the original xbox not the new one even though the date code is recent
Microsoft charges 26 Canadian for extended one year warranty or $52 for 2 years

I've been quite impressed with WiseBuy so far. Their return policy is 14 days and they have a standard six month parts and labour warranty on everything they sell. All plasma and LCD TV’s carry a 15 month parts and labour warranty.
I bought a Sony digital camera from them, but decided to return it since Sony offered me a credit on sonystyle.ca. It was outside the return window, but WB took it back and refunded my money no questions asked.

a frd of mine works for xbox 360 customer care department. Majority of the calls he receives are complaints b/c the xbox360/part broke down. The company policy will only fix the part and send u a refurbished 360. However, even tho they sent the customer a refurbished, they still have problems with it. Even with a refurbished there are tons of problems and customers are constantly calling in and are really frustrated. So, i suggest that u dont buy a refurbished 360 or a 360 at all. They have a lot of problems.
btw the company gives out free games depending on how bad ur problem is and how nice the rep is.
