Hope it's not a repost. Couldn't find it in a search.
Saw in-store, and a french version online (although the buttons look like they're in english in the picture).

It's an official Microsoft MCE remote, not a knockoff.

think this will fall under the "20% off All Computer Accessories" deal for the upcoming online sale?

Well, it is in the computer accessories section and not mentioned as being an exception... may have to wait for the sale to know for sure. they could put the price back up to reg.

Just come back from Woodbridge location, they have tons of them left (at least 10 left on shelf). Bought 2 of them.
The remote itself is English, I guess the supporting documents are bilingual.
It does come with 2 IR blasters. Very good price IMO.
Will try on my XP Pro (anybody have experience with this), if not working then I will upgrade to MCE in near future.

So what makes this french? Is it the labeling of the keys on the remote? I'm considering picking one up although I'm wondering how much use I'll really get out of it.
Hmmm.... to buy or not to buy...?

The upc code on the box has "EN/FR", I guess all the paper works are in English & French. Nothing on the remote itself have French (all English).

if that sale is specifying discounts off of prices, including those already on sale, then yes technically this item should get another 20% off during that online-only sale....

It is small button which stick onto device like DVD or sat/cable box. the other end goes into the reciever. So you can change the channels by your comp. If you have ORB then you can change channels of your sat. via internet from anywhere.:cheesygri

free ground s/h promos doesn't come by v. often at NCIX, and if it does, yes it req's that you redeem NCIX pts for it.... (usually 250-500 pts)

I just bought one of these for $33 at Infonec. Great remote. If you're looking for an MCE remote without support for IR blasters (i.e. no slots at the back of the IR receiver), then I have a brand new one for sale for $20.

I think that this current XP MCE remote will continue going down in price. My guess is they're getting rid of these in anticipation of the new Vista MCE remotes. Prototype here

There are also a whole bunch of 3rd party Vista MCE remotes coming out that include Sideshow
Been running Vista MCE for half a year now, and I must say it is amazingly better than XP MCE. Mind you, I find that that's the ONLY thing better about Vista

I'm not impressed - no new features or buttons.
Personally, I shelved my MCE remote and bought an HP remote off eBay. The HP remotes are far better. They don't light up so the batteries last longer (I've had mine for about two years running on the same batteries whereas the Microsoft remote needed to be changed every three months on average). The HP remotes also have a host of additional buttons which the Microsoft does not.
Since all MCE remotes (except for Dell) will work with each other's IR receiver, you can buy this one for $29 and then upgrade to to an HP remote.

You need MCE to use this remote. Optionally, most 3rd party media center software will support the MCE remote.

someone in one of the bb/fs sale threads mentioned that the discounts are only taken off regular priced items.. so its kinda up in the air... hope its goes another 20% though, that would be sweet.

if you checkout the FS/BB links provided in those threads, the fine print states that discounts are only taken off reg. priced items.
i'd say it's highly unlikely that there'd be another 20% off on top....

I want to use my Harmony 880 with Media Centre and am wondering if it is cheaper to buy this remote or find a cheap IRDA adapter?
The cheapest one I found was the media remote from LedShoppe for $18USD that came with a IRDA adapter.

Is there one that uses radio instead of IR? I hate having to fumble pointing the remote towards the IR receiver. Line of sight is such a pain.
