Most Zellers haven't moved their PSPs much so it's still possible to even find 2.6 PSPs there. Look for the letter identification on the side of the box to determine what firmware it is. Don't remember all the codes but you can google it.

I bought and sold 2 used ones, as I used it only for watching video, but the video quality wasn't that great. I was going to buy a new one to see if the screen quality issue had been addressed. At this price, it may be worth it. Compared to other MP4 players, the price is hard to beat.

there's a tif exploit on psp for a while. No opening required. Just load the sd card with a particular tif. After that, you can load any game you want.

It does, it has 32MB built in NAND flash memory. It is however not a type of memory that you can simply read and erase from easily.

I think most of the Zellers PSP are under 2.71, Problem are can you find it in the store?? I don't think Zellers would have many PSP in store. RFDer will clean the store in 5 mins.:D

Yeah, rumors of a redesign with no mention of what it will be or when it can be expected. I don't think it will drop to $100, lowest probably $130. With easy soft mod, and custom firmware, there's actually lots of fun games.

if they don't realize that you purchased a bundle, then perhaps you can still refund the game

Bought one duirng boxing day for $179 + $49 for 2G MS, then downgraded to 1.50 and upgraded to the 3.10 Open Edition (customed firmware). So now I can run homebrows, which turn the PSP into a more funcational device!

So today I got it for $149+$19 (mind quiz) as the gift for my wife's birthday (so that she won't have to fight with me to use the PSP as ereader any more ^_^).

The discussion on the internet is about 3.30 is being decrypted and dark alex (OE firmware creator) stating he is still debating whether to release a crappy 3.30 OE without new functions or to wait and release a full blown new OE since he said the memory on the PSP is running out for his OE firmwares.

Also, OE requires the PSP ID storage to be corrupted to upgrade and this won't happen unless you downgrade to 1.5.

also... you do NOT need GTA for 2.6

3.30OE isn't out either but 3.10OE works perfectly with every games and popstation

it is very easy to do and everyone should be able to do it in a couple of minutes
just READ and READ and READ before doing ANYTHING because you might brick your precious PSP :)

once you flashed your firmware you only need an original UMD to startup the games and a memory stick (4gb is the best)

I bought 2 from Futureshop PM the Zellers. Return the game afterwords. Both units with 2.71 TA082 board. The box is SS259 K. I think K stand for 2.71, and L stand for 2.81. Good thing for 2.71 is that you don't need the original GTA to downgrade.

This 2.71 TA-082 takes me 5 minutes to downgrade to 1.5, then upgrade to 3.03oe-c.

ahh... yes... if the games are like $30+ i think they're all locked up in the display cases... it's usually only the $20 or less (clearance games i suppose) that are avail.on the shelves/bins....

Hen is the gif of a hen. You run it from the image section. So image -> stick -> hen.gif. And let the magic happens

BTW, the instructions i got off the net says it takes a lot of tries to get the hen to crash psp the right way. The authors says it took me 5 tries. It took me 5 tries too. So don't worry, just keep trying.

I use the Logitech Playgear Pocket; its not a skin but I've been using it for a long time and my psp is still in great condition. I dropped the psp once from a jacket pocket when it was in the case on to hard surface and the case protected it.

For real portability, I just use those food film to cover the screen carefully (several trial before I got one without any bubbles), and use one of those bubble protection bag comes with hard disk purchase to hold the PSP.

I have tried those skin thing, too awkward with button pressing. Those protector boxes are too bulky.

The zeller I visited sells PSP for $229.99 - $80. That is $149.99

The 1st step is the easiest step:

You google a Sony official 2.71v firmware ( I got it on a non-English website,

so I can not give you the link). copy the firmware to folder X:/psp/game/update .

Then turn on psp, run the firmware under game function.

ATTN: Do not download on sony official website, sony already replaced the

2.71v with the newest one. DO NOT upgrade your 2.6v to a non-2.71 version.

I'd stay away from 3.10 OE and use 3.03OE. There are some homebrew that don't work on 3.30 but works on 3.10.

So two situations :

1. some Zellers sold for $229.99, you got $80 discount, so $149.99

2. some Zellers sold for $199.99, you should got for $149.99 as well, but

the Zellers which you visited sold it to you for only $129.99, you paid $170

Don't remember all of it but most problems that write to flash isn't supported by 3.30 OE. As such, you can't customize your XMB with some homebrew in 3.30 OE.

Yeah, ISO works perfectly. Its just for the dedicated homebrew users that 3.10 OE causes problem. That being said if all you're into is games then go the 3.10 OE.

you can always compress to CSO as well, usually shrinks it by 10-30%. The Warriors went from 1.19GB to 1 GB. But NHL went from 900mb to 250mb, lots of variations.

I have about 6 PSP CSO and 3 PS1 eboots on my 4GB card. It should be more than fine for your needs.

I think it's calculated (149.99 + 19.99)*1.14 = 193.78. it looks like they charged him the amount without the coupon so he saved on taxes.

i remember using some $10off50 (or sth like that) coupon (sent to me along w/ the HBC CC statement) and somehow i got charged tax, then deducted the coupon on my receipt.

wasn't gonna go back to get the couple $ adjusted since i only realized that after i got home...

I got charged first time as ($199.99-%10+$20-%10)x1.14-$50=$177.7, I appplied the 10% HBC card discount. Before I left I looked at the receipt, and found it was definitely wrong, the PSP should be $50 off $200, this means before tax, not $200+tax -$50, that is not what they advertised as $149.99. I turned back to casher, but they said all coupon was after tax, I argued it should be $149.99 that was before the tax on the flyer, not after tax, then they called their manager, the manager said I was right, so they recalculated for me like ($149.99-%10+20-%10)x1.14= $174.x final.
and later I retuend the unopend game. the final is $135+tax. really not bad deal!:D
