Hard drive question

I have a ASUS A8N5X motherboard, which supports SATA. Would it support SATA II? I want to buy a Seagate Barracuda SATA II 320 GB hard drive. Thanks in advance.

Your motherboard natively supports Sata1.
However Sata2 harddrives will still work, but will work in Sata1 mode.

SATA II will work but you won't get its features like NCQ and whatnot.

The seagate 7200.10 SATA2 series comes with a jumper on the drive that sets it to SATA 1 mode. If you remove this jumper, it gives you SATA 2.

You can check the seagate web site for details or just read the drive sticker as it should tell you. I have the 320 GB and the 500 GB drives and they are quite good for the price.
