How do you guys keep your cable installs clean? I'm assuming I need to buy a proper cable stapler and staples. Unless there are any better/cheaper ideas?

And where to buy? I'm in London, Ontario -- I'm assuming I'll need a specialty electronics shop like Counterparts or something? Maybe?

Any help appreciated.

You can buy a stapler and round staples for wire in Home Depot or Canadian Tire.

i staple cat5 all the time, just for dial tone runs though not data, we as in the company i work for use a stapler that i think costs about 30 dollars from home depot. If you push too hard it can crimp the wire which is not good for data, but if you use light pressure it works great.

i used to be a cable tech, most of the time, we would use Cable Ties or Tie wraps to the studs in the celing tiles and walls. worked like a charm.

Sorry, I am frugal

I got paint stir sticks from Home Depot.
Spray bombed them a nice purdy color
Cut them into 4" long pieces.
Bought N feet of 1" wide velcro (fabric store)
Glued one side of the velcro to the stick
Affixed the velcro together
Screwed the "cable tie" to the underside of my 3 U shaped wooden desks
Screwed them in approximately 3/4" from the end of the 4" stick
Put up a wack of my cable ties.
Now I can open the velcro and "cable tie" my cat5, phone wires, power cords, video cables, USB cables, etc to the underside of my desks
Cost is less than $20 for 40+ cable ties.

Sounds like a home made version of this:
