I am trying to convince myself on getting a new LCD. Just over 3years ago I bought the Sharp Aquos 37" LCD for over 6k and have loved the tv. However at the time there was no larger LCD and now I am itching for either a 46" or 52". I have read a lot of comments and have almost settled on the Bravia XBR3. My long winded question is as follows: I usually buy most my electronics through our employee discount so I can get the 46" XBR3 for $4150 all in or the 52" XBR3 for $5750 but checking on ebay these LCDs come even cheaper. Do you think these are good prices?

Wrong forum, but I would never trust purchasing anything over a couple hundred from Ebay, especially an item with potentially expensive replacement/repair costs

If you can afford it go with the 52. I have the 46XBR2 which is silver as opposed to the XBR3 which has the piano black finish.
As for Ebay, stay away for purchasing these sets. With shipping/handling it comes out to the same or a little less. If ordering from the US, the warranty is not valid.
Also be aware that these units have had some bad clouding issues or what is known as MURA effect. To see it at its worst, go into the store, try to have dark surroundings, pop the TV on and put it on an empty input. Now you will see the nice clouds and possible leaking of light from the corners. Some units are worse than others and according to Sony this is normal for the technology. It is ****** when you are watching very dark scenes. Now they have com eout with a fix which basically dims the settings to mask it.
Still, I love this unit and my clouding was minimal. Do a google search to find the forums on this topic.
Finally, if you are in the GTA, I suggest going to G&G Electronics in the East end. Tell them you are a teacher with the TDSB and see what pricing they give you. Then take that price to FS or BB and have the price match/beat by 10%. I am sure that price will be under your employee discount.
Good luck!

Sorry about posting in the wrong forum definately a newbie to posting but read the site daily. Thanks for the info I will try G&G as I have bought from them before.
The clouding issue scared me but there were comparable problems with the Aquos which is why I decided on the Bravia.
