I need to get well researched roofers you've have work done by and can recommend. My primary needs are:

Documented insurance/workers comp
Work done on schedule
Complete cleanup
Good after-sales service
Fair price (ie. not the cheapest, but not the most expensive)

My first quote of ~$10,000 was from Direct Energy. This included removing and replacing all existing shingles, flashing, fascia, vents; 40yr fibreglass shingles made by GAF w/ 12yr 100% warranty (prorated thereafter, decreasing by 10%/yr); ridge venting (vs. typical "mushroom" vents that you see...) with ridge-specific shingles; water/ice layer for first 3 feet from the edges; 100 sq ft of plywood for any roof repairs as needed.

See if you can get in touch with Perry's Roofing. I've solely used them and referred them on several occassions. Best prices in town and a great job too. However one thing I must warn you is that they are extremely busy as they deal a lot with insurance companies which keep them very busy!!!!

For what it's worth.

Some roofers may ask you for some money " up front " to pay for materials...this is a complete scam. Reputable roofers will only expect to be paid once - once the job is done.

You want a written guarantee of their work to have on hand if you ever sell the house- so avoid paying " cash " under the table - if that means you can't get that gurantee.
