What I'm trying to do:
- At work I have 1 wired desktop, and 1 notebook (with built-in wireless B) Both have static IP.
- I hope to purchase any wireless USB adapter, and somehow configure it so that it will only accept my notebook wirelessly
- All traffic must appear to look like it is coming from the desktop (i.e. IT support will consider this a breach of security), and all server services must work (DNS, DHCP, SMTP, etc.)
Will this work?
- Purchase a USB wireless adapter, such as this one on sale:
Linksys WUSB54GP 802.11G Wireless USB LAN Adapter (with USB docking station) http://www.cty.ca/details.asp?pid=1943
- Connect it to the desktop, and install WinProxy
Do I have to 'bridge' the connections? I've never done this before, so I have no idea. I assume/hope WinProxy has some kind of MACID filtering, etc.
