I just picked up my copy this afternoon at ebgames.
BTW not to disappoint some of you, but I just finished a multiplayer map and the FPS cap is still at 30 :(

I hear that apparently (from Gamespot.com), the FPS cap is there to control the "speed" of the game. To summarize, 30 FPS is the normal speed of the game although things move quickly enough at around 20ish FPS. But once it gets into the low teens, the RTS looses its real-time aspect.

Game being capped at 30 can be a piss off, but meh I'm just getting used to it.
All I have to say is upgraded tripods + corrupters + devastator warship + planetary assault carrier (and maybe the mothership if it reaches) = GG to anything.
SERIOUSLY, they weren't joking about not letting the Scrin get up to late game.

Did anyone have problems with the Demo? Worked fine for me except for a few random crashes... quite a few, couldn't even finish one skirmish...

Gamespot gave it a generous 9.0 and IGN gave it a more than fair 8.5 (regular edition). The IGN review is pretty much spot on and completely summarizes how I feel about the game. I have not played any C and C game before and the cut scenes with b star acting is so cheesy for me. I'm partial to being a quick rusher than a turtling approach, and this game is not for the latter. It looks like its faithful for fans of the series, they count most I suppose.

I'd bought the regular version non kane. picked it up at walmart for $48. not paying $70 for kane edition. the kane edition comes with extra maps. I would ot get hold of them if possible?? if not I'd just have to find out with one are the kane ones and the ones that aren't. or do what other people suggested. play online download the maps, then quit the game to get hold of the maps.

I bought the Kane edition at Wal-Mart for $58. Game runs great on my system, which is nice after SupComm. I play at 1920x1200 on my new Dell 2407 and I'm loving it.
