We're in the homestretch and starting to buy stuff for the impending birth of our first child. There is so much to chose from, how do you decide which car seat, which high chair, which bottles, which diaper can etc to use? I've found a site that provided comprehensive reviews for strollers, but for everything else, it seems to be hit and miss at sites like epinions.
Where does everyone do their research?

I find this site ( see link ) is among the best ...it reviews review sites and summarizes their findings to narrow down the best choices
The " Family " sections includes a review of reviews of ....
- Baby Carriers
- Baby Monitors
- Car Seats
- Strollers ( various types )
- High Chairs

I use a variety of sources, but I've found epinions (http://www.epinions.com), Amazon (http://www.amazon.com), and Consumer Reports (http://www.consumerreports.org) to be very useful. I'll also just type in "infant car seat review", for example, into Google and see what pops up.

There is a popular book called "baby bargains" (you can buy from chapters or borrow from library) and it has many useful information as to what to buy, which one to buy of everything you need for a baby. There is also a bit of reviews and recommendations for certain items. I find that book very helpful (although some products are only avail in US, such as car seat) especially to 1st time parents.

I'm a firm believer in Consumer Reports. They do all their own testing of products that they buy at the retail level, but most importantly they are non-profit and non-corporate-sponsored.

Search your products at amazon.com under the baby category and you can read the reviews from other parents.
