ATI AIW 9800 Pro, I bought this from Nodes like 1 year ago. I need a PCIE card now because I just bought the DELL x2 4200+ @ 389. If my new comp supports AGP I would keep this card until dx10 cards become cheaper.
-No remote, never came with one
-Comes with the purple and black connectors which enable RCA in/out and s-video in/out.
-stock cooling
-has both DVI and VGA connector.
On the card there is a chip on one of the black inductors, does not seem to effect the function of card. The card can not over clock much at all, I tried to overclock it but was not able to push it much at all, so basically I ran it at stock speeds for as long as I owned it, except the few minutes I actually tried to over clock it.
The only time I had problems with it was when my PSU crapped out, I thought it was the video card because I kept getting the "please connect power to you ati card" upon booting, but it was just my PSU. With a new PSU the card worked fine.
This is a decent card, would work nice for a htpc that could do some light gaming. TV tuner quality is nothing spectacular but nothing sub par wrt to other tv tuner cards. I really never use the tv tuner function because there is nothing good on tv and because the ati tv tuner software is not very stable.
If you come pick it up, I can show you the card working on my system. However you gotta do it soon, because I am giving my rig to my friend. My new comp will not have agp slot.
Price is $80->$70->65->60->50-> sold
Location is downtown toronto, I perfer pickup from my house.
I will post pics of the card this weekend, but there is not much to see because my card is just like any othe AIW 9800 pro card except for the chip on the inductor.
