In January Bestbuy had the french version of the acer 5630 for 799. I was able to PM the english version by phone, apply four coupons, so I got it for 719 plus tax. It also included a canon all in one that came free after mail in rebate. Just waiting for my free Vista Premium upgrade to arrive. Nice laptop!

is a tool, and a fool. the staples ad,is fo tottally diff laptop that is on clearance which was once sold for 799 as sum guy mentione.
it is not the same cuz one has vista and one has XP.

I only used two coupons for final price of ($740 + $5) x 1.06 = $789.70. You paid $719 + 7% + 7% = $819.66.

I sold the AS5630 after a month. Now I just ordered the Thinkpad Z61t for $999. Reg. $2269.

No more of the Acer 5050-5827 at the Kanata Costco. They did have a few of the Acer TM4202 (Centrino Duo T2300, 512MB, 80 GB, XP Home, 15.4") for $499.98. I picked one up but will have to decide whether to keep it.

Merivale Costco had neither of these models but did have a Compaq Presario model for $699 but I don't remember the specs for it.

I'm pretty sure they did have it because the Costco rep pretty much confirmed it when I went looking for one but found that they were all gone. However, this sounds like a YMMV because it seems like different stores have different stock left over that they are trying to clear out.

I got one of three weeks ago when it was on for $799 and returned it when I got the v6215ca from FS which had a slightlly better spec for the same price.

I just picked one of the v6110ca again this morning from Costco Merivale now that they brought the price down further and took the v6215ca back to FS. The ticket said only 5 left so I guess this is the last chance but it's a pretty good deal!

I'm p****d off running around buying and returning laptops and Costco and FS now both have open box equipment to offload. And who knows if a better deal comes along in the next few weeks it may be going back again. No one really benefits from this. <vent off>
