I got a Rogers Pay As You Go phone and when I try activating the phone it is asking for a 11 digit ESN number. I checked all the numbers in the back of the phone and none of them have 11 digits I also checked all the numbers on the box?

ya, call rogers, and they will do it for you using a "dummy" ESN.

Are they asking for an ESN number or IMEI number? If they are asking for an IMEI number it is on the side of the box in a barcode format, and it is also on the phone behind the battery. I would pull the number off the phone though.

Then it will ask you for the SIM.

ESN numbers haven't been asked for since November when rogers axed TDMA activations. It is really irrelevent now because they are eliminating TDMA entirely.

yeah, you will need to take off the battery and use the number that you see on the back of the battery or the phone. Then do the 11 digit number you see on your sim card then call *868 to fill your account with $$
