Air Canada Sales

Hi,

I was looking at booking a flight to san francisco from calgary in early may. It is on sale right now, but the sale ends today. I'm not quite ready to book, I still need some more info, but don't want to miss out on the sale.

Does anyone know if Air Canada ever extends their sales? or si this a common sale to the US?

I have found air canada sales to be a crock. last year I bought tickets on 'sale' and found when the 'sale' was over the tickets were cheaper. This last time I had to buy tickets I really have watched prices. They seem to vary any day of the week. Its basically just a guessing game. I hate it!

:arrowu: Yup! Its hit and miss at best. Everything can change one day to the next (including the service fees). There doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason for it.

You may want to look at the US Pass they are offering, especially if you want to take a second trip to the western US. The pass is not quite as good as the Welcome Aboard pass that was offered, bu still not bad. With it you get 4 one way trips (on certain days of the week) between now and May 15 for $639 CDN plus GST

supply and demand, as well as competition. it could be that the previous sale didn't meet expectations, and so they had to lower the fares to try to fill up the seats. or it could be that one of their competitors had just released a seat sale (with lower fares) and so AC had to match to stay competitive.

There were instances in which the fare dropped after I bought the ticket, and there were times that it went up right after I had clicked 'purchase'. The key is to buy the ticket at a price that you find reasonable and stop checking it afterwards :lol:

I believe when you book online, you have a 24hr "courtesy" period, to cancel or change a flight without any fees being imposed. So, if the fare drops in that time you can make changes.

Also, I have found with AC, it is worthwhile checking first thing in thr morning. Often there is availabilty, even if there was none the evening before. I 've heard from some people it this may be due to seats that are on hold, but not paid for, are released overnight.

Well i ended up missing that sale and then yesterday checked again and it was 20 dollars cheaper each way on a "one day" sale. Ended up getting it for 302 including all taxes, which I was pretty happy with.
