Wow, paypal finally got me. My first time getting this, a paypal chargeback from a buyer today...

The story goes like this:
I sold something on ebay, worth $200, back in the days, 13 December 2006. The buyer got the package on the 23rd of December 2006, and yet I STILL managed to get a chargeback, 3 months later? wtF? Is this some sort of joke, paypal?

I shipped the package using paypal, tracking number on the transaction itself, and buyer was a confirmed address paypal user. Why doesn't paypal do their work before ACTUALLY DEDUCTING THE MONEY. Ridiculous.

Now I got a negative balance on my account.

Edit: nevermind, no ebay feedback, misread username XD

You should be able to appeal the chargeback using PayPal. You also should have removed the funds as soon as you got them. Is the buyer sending the item back?

Nope, it was filed as "unauthorized payment". The buyer never contacted me and there was no comment left in the claim.

Oh, I don't have any funds in my account, its just negative. Can it still harm me in any ways? Credit card company? Bank?

Don't think they can really do anything to you about your negative payment unless they take it to a small claims court. If you're really paranoid about it, just remove your CC and bank information from your Paypal account.

Hmm...If I remove my CC and bank, wouldn't that make me look like I did scam the person? lol:confused:

but you said you have proof that you sent him the item, like tracking info.

why did you not refute the claim at the time when the buyer actually opened the dispute? because the buyer can only do this within 30 days of the auction end.

i would also suggest to take out your c/c and bank account info now or else it might get charged.

That's what I thought, within 45 days after the transaction...but apparently, it'll be 3 months in 5 days since that transaction. The dispute was opened today.

It might be a mistake, I have experienced one other PayPal glitch already. I payed a guy and the transaction was pending for a month. I called PayPal and they told me that it went through a week after, yet my eBay account was showing it as pending. Computers make mistakes to, so I'd call PayPal before getting stressed about it.

Perhaps...I will do that tomorrow.

Does it say if it's a Paypal chargeback or a Credit Card charge back.

If i'm not mistaken, I believe with a credit card you have up to 3 months (90 Days) to file a chargeback. So maybe that's what happened.

How do I check? It only says "chargeback".

Apparently, I'm only the only person that is getting a chargeback. Someone else is also getting a chargeback from this user =\
