lol. I had a perm once, my dad made me do it, when I was like ~10ish. Looked super dorky.

Lots of asians dye their hair blonde. I dunno if its 80s, 90s, or whatever but I'm putting blonde highlights all over everywhere, mostly on the top layers though. People tell me it looks good. I had deep red highlights prior and you can still see some of it, and mixed with blonde, gives out that orangish hue. Came out alright. But going back for some real blonde look :twisted:

As a lady who lived in the 80's, I can tell you a half-grown out perm is he11 to deal with... It is very hard to live with. I wouldn't try it again.

ibanker, I see that style quite often and when I see it it reminds me of a dust mop, no offense, just giving you my honest opinion. The last pic looks alright though. The dry look just doesn't look good imo, referring to the second and third pic.

The trick is how to style it so that it looks natural, fits your facial structure, and free flowing. Meaning you can run your finger through your hair and still be able to retain that style. People with thicker hair can do this better. Having that wet or shiny look is nice for formal occasions, but girls I know have made comments how they like their guys to have that "natural" look where they can run their fingers through their SO's hair and can see the hair actually move like it should when the wind blows into their face. After you put on all those stying products, at the end of the day try running your fingers through your own hair, sticky, gooey, and just yucky in general. Repulsive.

I think of a guy perm and think of that guy from "coming to american" :lol: (which has been referenced to in this thread).

The lion's mane type of style of asian guys - I thought it was just product you would need to put in your hair after your shower to get it looking like that. The hair wax stuff. Sorry not sure what sortof male hair products are out there. It would be a lot less cheaper, but more time in the morning getting ready :)
