OK. So upon reading in RFD under some spyware thread that spyware doctor was good. I decided to give it a shot.

First of all, I absolutely HATE scanners that don't clean. Why try to scan if your just going to prompt the user to buy to clean? and it would do this every day by itself until I shut it off.

Now....this is the F'ed up thing...

I went to take a nap just now, woke up to Bitcomet encountering a problem with spyware doctor.

I just closed the bitcomet (following what the spywaredoctor told me to do).

I opened up a firefox browser to start surfing and BAMN! BSOD....

I don't exactly remember the details but it had something to do with a driver_non_ISQR something.

I restart my computer, before it even gets to windows BAMN! BSOD....

This time it states there is another file or some crap missing or corrupt.

I restart my computer AGAIN, and it won't even boot up. After shutting it down completely and waiting like a minute, I turn it back on again, and it takes me through to the "disk check for NTFS" thing...

I've never had that problem before...

I come back into windows, and I find A LOT of programs corrupt after I uninstall spyware doctor.

Some programs don't even start saying it has been "changed" ever since it was installed, and I KNOW it was spyware doctor because this sh1t started happening JUST now...

WTF I need to put a couple rounds of bullets into the guy who created that program...

Any suggestions on how to recover??

I'm thinking I might need to F'ing reformat again...

I have been running Spyware doctor for over 1 year now on multiple systems (win2k, xp and vista) and no issues. Sounds like you should run a reg cleaner and that may help.

Nothing wrong with spyware doctor. I used the full version for over a year and know people using the current version right now. The only problem i've ever seen is the same for all anti virus/spyware programs. If you have a really bad infection and you clean it using any program, there's always the chance that something will be incorrectly cleaned leaving you in a non-booting state.

But you said you didn't run a clean.

Ditto here...it saved me last summer when none of the others could!

All this could be caused by an aggressive piece of spyware that's already running on your system. I've seen spyware that prevents you from surfing to anti-virus sites, prevent you from installing anti-virus/spyware...etc...etc. I would suggest scanning and cleaning your system with two different anti-virus/spyware packages (Don't install both at the same time...install one, scan, uninstall, install the second and then scan again).

There is an excellent site here (http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm#trustworthy) that lists bogus spyware scanners versus good spyware scanners. The good list is very short compared to the bad list but SpyWare Docter is approved by them.

It sounds as if your system is messed up a lot. Have you tried System Restore? You can always reinstall Windows.

I got a bad virus infection last year that took weeks of system cleaning (CCleaner, but be careful, it is powerful), reinstalling windows, multiple virus scans and finally the help of the forums on Spyware Warrior to get rid of CoolWWW Search, an awful piece of spyware.

OK, heres the update:

From start to end:

1. Woke up at 6pm EST.

2. Saw bitcomet clashing with spywaredoctor.

3. Mumbled a whole crapload of profanities while attempting to close both applications.

4. Started up Internet explorer (Usually use firefox 2.0 but when I click the msn live hotmail shortcut it goes to IE)

5. BSOD with "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and more with "PAGE_FILE_NOT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA" and others that I won't even get into.

6. Restart manually

7. Booted to XP but there are programs not working properly...
E.G. Spybot claims it cannot open because it has been tampered with by a virus or malicious software.

8. While mumbling more profanities, I decide to restart my computer again.

9. Booted to XP but now startup programs (including crucial ones like system explorer) are closing because of some errors.

10. Computer freezes all but the mouse (able to CTRL ALT DEL)

11. Fuming, I decide to shut down the computer and boot into bios.

12. I call Polaren, and tell him WTF. He tries to single out the problems by first loading all defaults to bios.

13. Computer now won't boot up. We then CLR CMOS and it still doesn't work. We figure out its ASUS being A$5-FCUK$ with their quirky boards. We thought it was ram because on the Diagnostics LCD on the back it would say "DET DRAM" and "CHIP INIT".

14. Now with 2 F'ing problems on my hands, I break down. Every profanity that I know in my vocabulary is heard for about 2 miles in a 360 degree radius around my house. Wakes up a neighbor in the process.

15. I decide to try to sleep off my problems, and indeed I do sleep. When I wake up I decide for the hell of it to turn my PC on, even knowing that it won't turn on. Amazingly (thank God) it turns on to bios, Saying something about Overclocking failure and it allowed me to get into BIOS.

16. I quickly call Polaren and he tells me that it might be Asus boards acting ********. Apparently when we cleared the CMOS, what we didn't realize was that the 2.2 memory volt was set back down to auto which is 1.8v. The reason the BIOS wasn't able to detect the ram wasn't because my ram was F'ed up. Rather, it was because the Corsair XMS2 PC-8500 CS5D Dominator required at least 2.0v of memory voltage.

17. Knowing that information, I quickly went into the BIOS while God still gave me time, and changed the memory voltage from "auto" to "2.2v"

18. BINGO, the computer starts booting up normally again now. I thank God Almighty.

19. Problem one solved. Now on to Problem 2.

20. Earlier on I had problems formatting installing windows XP MCE. I was afraid it would plop into blue screens again. Worse, I wouldn't even get into the installing, rather I would get stuck at "file not able to copy" right after a format. Regardless, holding in my breath, I decide to pursue this, knowing I have nothing to lose.

21. BINGO again, I successfully reformat the Raptor, and install a fresh new copy of XP. At this time I am already jumping for joy. I quickly thank God again, and start installing all my drivers back on.

22. I went into bios, and loaded my saved OC profile and it loaded beautifully, as of now, I'm running orthos again (even though I've already proven it was stable for a good 15 hours on CPU, blend and 8 hours on ram-extensive stress).

23. I'm back to normal (albeit with less startup programs and no spyware doctor). I tuned my RAM down from 4-5-4-12 back to stock 5-5-5-15 as I don't want to overdo my ram this time.

24. 11942 3D marks (down 12 marks which is not even noticeable, and my voltage down from a OC 2.5v to 2.25v saving my ram quite a bit of stress and heat).

25. I feel like a miracle has happened. It's so funny how you really don't know what you've lost until you've actually lost it. Fortunately I've recovered mine. THANK GOD!

How come you were asking for advice? You know way more about computers than I do. I don't know what half that stuff means.

It seems you do your best work when you're asleep :)

Of course there might be people out there who have absolutely no problems with SpywareDoctor. The problems I encountered are either of my own Noobness, or just my darned luck.

I will continue to stick with the 3 anti-spyware/virus programs that I've been running for a good 3 years now.

1. AVG Free anti-virus
2. Spybot Search & Destroy
3. Lavasoft Adaware Personal

They are all free and have helped me tremendously over the past couple of years.

Well I don't know much about computers, it was all Polaren and Table21's effort.

Much appreciated guys.

Of course, the there are still things that are left to be explained that can only be no other than a miracle performed by God himself.

It seems that I do get most of my best work done when I'm asleep :)
