My son is 6 months and has only had rice cereal. Since cereal is his first solid, I don't want to give him cereal with additives. Besides PC Organics, are there any other brands without oil and other stuff? Where did you buy them?

Check out your local health food store. I personally skipped cereal and went for the organic fruits/veggies (homemade of course :) )

Nothing wrong with rice-only at 6 months, or with PC Organics. Start progressing to wheat-based cereal soon, but no rush. The PC Organic cereal line is great, why worry about looking for others?

I can only find PC Organics rice cereal. I would like to buy oat or barley, but the oat one wasn't available at the time. My son refused the rice cereal today. Is that normal?

My son refused the rice cereal today. Is that normal? Try to have same two dishes (milk and porridge) day in and day out for 2 weeks. Wouldn't you be bored to death? Well, he was :) Seriously, try to give them something else, like a cookie to munch on (but be careful with cookies, sometime babies manage to chew out bigger piece then they can manage and it's suffocation risk).

My son did that the other day, gave him an Arrowroot and he chewed out a bigger piece, but he threw up and the piece came with it. Suffice it to say he wasn't happy about throwing up. I'll give him the biscuit later. But he is eating a lot of other foods, veggies and fruits, started him on chicken yesterday.

I think baby (pre-12-month) with cookie should be handled as kid swimming in pool ("if you can't reach them immediately and you don't watch them all the time, they're in danger"). But it's risk worth taking, IMHO.

We skipped rice altogether and started him on Wheat cereal at 4.5 months. He loved it. Now he only eats it for breakfast...otherwise he eats homemade fruits and veggies.
