Just wondering if anybody knows where I can take my ipod to repair/replace its battery. It works fine on the dock but once I take it off it drains right away

Hello

I've been looking into this topic as well, and found this promising store downtown.

http://irepair.ca/
494 College Street

I myself have not gone there to replace/repair any batteries, but it *looks* (from the website) to be a trustworthy store.

Maybe someone else on RFD can help post a review/rate how well the store operates.

Hope this helps!!

It's actually really easy to do yourself.

Best Buy has most batteries at similar cost to what you can get online (Sonnet brand I believe). The battery kit comes with the appropriate tool to open the iPod as well as a good video on CD showing exactly how to replace it. I even price matched the battery at Best Buy with this site:

As long as you're careful you should have no problems with this. I did it with a 3rd gen iPod 30GB without any hiccups.
