So I have a random urge to take a mini roadtrip in the middle of the night. My friend suggested we go drive to Niagara Falls and back. Haha. Interesting. It should take about 2 hours I suppose. Niagara Falls is pretty at night but it seems like a 'boring' drive.
Then again, most things at night are boring.
Any suggestions? Just drive around aimlessly in downtown Toronto? Hmm...

Aren't these normally spur of the moment type of things? Not things you find time to make a post on the internet about?

You guys are right, it IS supposed to be a spur of a moment type thing. But I'm not a spur of a moment type guy, so I'm planned it rofl.
I meant in the dead of night, where everyone else is asleep. Thinking past midnight. We could drive up north a little and then see the stars a little clearer but that's a little creepy where nobody's around.
Niagara falls would be an awesome but it's not lit after 9:30. With our busy schedules we'd only get there at like 1am.
Hmm.

step a: get in car
step b: find a street (not a highway) that leads out of Toronto
step c: keep driving on that street, if it ends, find another, you'll be amazed at what you stumble on
supplementary step (insert at any point above): stop for gas and munchies
if you really want to take a random trip, that's my suggestion at least

my friends and i go on random mini night-trips a lot...
if you're going to niagara falls, then go earlier in the evening. i believe the lights shut off around 11pm or midnight...the past couple of times we've gone to the falls the lights have been off by the time we got there. not as much fun just hearing the falls. however, the rest of clifton hill is still alive so there's still fun to be had.

In the middle of the night, Niagara Falls is pretty dead during the week.
On the weekend, it is okay until around last call.
After that, there really isn't very much to see other than the casino.
If you are going to do Toronto, why not get out of the car and see the real Toronto at night.
Downtown (Yonge and Dundas)
- street dog
- street musician
- street people
- street cops
Downtown (Jarvis and College)
- "Are you looking for a date?"
- "No thank you. Just window shopping."
Chinatown
- Chinese noodle places are always open late.
- the place is always interesting at night...especially on garbage day.
The Entertainment District
- if you are lucky, it will be like ring side seat at the UFC.
Parkdale
- always a few interesting characters standing on the street corner, 24/7
- on a second thought, don't do Parkdale at night...

LOL
Play the 501 streetcar drinking game...
take a drink if you
see a cop in a car sitting
see a cop speeding down the road with siren
see a cop arresting somebody on the street
see a cop get out of a car and RUN after somebody
see a break and enter in progress
see a cop at the scene of a break and enter
see a cop on a bike or a horse (summer)
and take two drinks of you see a cop on a bike or a horse arrest somebody!
I've seen all of the above on the streetcar. You could do all of the above from a car too if you want, its just a lot safer to drink on the TTC
