If just hitting the A button on the second remote doesn't work, hit the home button, and go to the bottom of the screen to set up more remotes.

Push the red button on the Wii in the compartment under the Disc drive, also press the red button beside the battery under the remote cover. Can't remember the order. It's like programming a garage door opener remote.

Permanent Syncing:
1) Push red button on Wii-mote
2) Push red button on Wii

You should permanently sync your extra remotes with your console. You can sync temporarily with the 1-2 button method with other ppl's consoles.

I actually just went to the wiimote settings and reconnected off the wiimotes. its a very sloppy process but it still worked at the end

ahh good to know, right now I use the remotes on two different consoles, so will stick to the 1-2 method but when my extra one comes in I will sync it permanent.
