NYC Hotel Recommendation...priceline?

Can anyone tell me how priceline works? Or recommend a decent hotel at a reasonable price in Manhattan.

We are planning to go to NYC nearing Victoria weekend (May 16 -20) for 5 people (will sneak the baby in as 4 people). We've been there several times but has scammed at the hotel (La Quinta on 32nd)that we always astayed at. Never going back there again.

Priceline is no good for four people, unless you get two rooms. They can't guarantee you'll get a room with two beds, you may get one with one king.
