I will be graduating in a couple of months with a computer engineering degree. I haven't had much luck finding a job in Canada so I am considering finding a job in the USA. Can somebody give me some advice and possible strategy?

I believe you need CS diploma and at least two years of post-grad experience to qualify for TN1. Anyway, google for "TN1 visa". That's if U R Canadian citizen. Otherwise your local Golden Arch prolly has some burger flipper vacancies

The best way to gain employment in the USA if you're Canadian is to find a job with a multinational/international organization here in Canada and then (after a little while so as not to attract attention) seek a transfer to one of its US offices. In fact, the organization may even ask you or require you to work for them in the US.

Not true. Plenty of new Waterloo CS grads work in the States on a TN.

Not true all you need is a 4 year CS bachelors degree to get a TN as a Systems Analyst or an Engineer. I should know I have one. Tough luck getting a job with no experience though. I wasn't able to land a job in the Bay Area until I finished my masters at a U.S. school and had a bit of experience from a school co-op position. Employers in the U.S. are requiring more and more these days especially if you dont have a green card or citizenship.
