I received this PM from an RFDer today. It was regarding the recent Dell.ca $160 coupon on their Dimension E521 desktop. Here is copy of what he sent me:

Hi bm_attar!

I contact you about the Dell e521 deal.
I also ordered one on saturday too but I made a mistake and I took a Semptron processor instead of the AMD X32 3800+.
When I called this morning to change the order, they said they cannot change it and want to charge 300$ to change. The representative want to see another same order (X2 3800+ with same deal )for this deal because she don't believe me becouse she couldn'tsee that specific deal on the system.

Could I have your order number with your complete name so the Dell rep can see your order and that prove that the deal exist on saturday !!

Thanks a lot for your help

I am not suggesting this is a scam, but I got a bit suspecious when someone asks for an order number and a full name, espcially for an order that has not shipped yet.

Any opinions? And in general, am I right in not disclosing this info?

They shouldn't be able to do anything with your order number. But I wouldn't risk giving out any personal information.

Never give your personal information to anyone, ever.

Could you please post the username so I can block them? Thanks.

He might try to say that the order was sent to the wrong address and might try to change the delivery address to his own..
Not sure if that is possible though...
