Im a university student and will be done at the end of April. For jobs that rather have people working full time, when is it a good time to start applying or does it matter at all. Say you applied today and got the job, would it be ok to tell them that you can start at 2 months later? Im thinking of applying at call centre just you know? so want to know when its a good time to start applying?

Thanks

might want to sharpen up ur grammar before u apply
call center jobs generally dont hire 2-3 months in advance.
they key is to tell them ur looking for summer employment
on ur resume/cover letter. this way u dont waste their time (and urs)

Start looking NOW.

A lot of companies are recruiting now for the summer.

Nothing wrong with telling people you start at a later date. I'd hurry up and look now. Applications usually are flying in already, so you don't want to be at the bottom of the stack.

Thought I'd throw in suggestions, since you say you're a university student. This year it's probably too late for looking for summer student positions through or at your university, but it's something you should look into for the future. If you're in science or engineering, look into research grants speficially intended for students, such as NSERC. Having some related summer experiences really helps you sell yourself once you've graduated.

u said ur done this april and all ur looking for is a summer job??? why would u not want a full time job?

anyways, i dunno how u gone through the 4 years of university not looking for summer employment... heck, even high school... there are already tons of students applying for summer positions. u really should start ASAP.

usually job posting have some sort of "Start Date", so u can obviously tell which ones start in the summer and which ones are immediate...

this is the year of double-cohort grads.
i havent started looking myself, due to a full course load and some laziness....
its never too late tho. especially for call center type jobs, they are pretty high turnover anyway
