So i'm jussst curious how much cash should one bring into the dominican? and are the fees on taking money from your bank accounts radiculously high? my TD bank account features:
- Additional withdrawal fee for Interac ABM of $1.50 each
- Additional PLUS system withdrawal fee inside U.S. and Mexico - $3.00 each
- Additional PLUS system withdrawal fee outside Canada, U.S. and Mexico - $5.00 each
so is its $5 every time I use debit or withdraw cash while i'm in the dominican?

depends if it is all inclusive. Planning on tours or outings? Tips to staff. Have about $20 U.S for departure tax per person!!!!

advise i was given by travel agent.
Take about $100 in small US denominations , 1's ,5's, 10's. This will cover tips and any small things you want to buy, put aside $20 for departure.
And just Bring Canadian with you to exchange, at hotel, if you plan to do excursions.
CAtamaran , ATV, Scuba any where from $50 to $100 each.
BRing a calculator to act as a deterant for them to rip you off.

We charged excursions at our hotel. We also brought 30 1 USD bills for tips and 50 USD for purchases. Ended up taking home 27 USD. The odds of finding a bank machine in the DR are pretty slim as well.

when my bf and i go to the caribbean, we usually bring about $200 cash each. this is at all-inclusive resorts, and we usually go scuba diving & shopping for souvenirs/liquor.
in any case, bring lots of $1 bills for tipping.
