I need some advice... I recently bought a $1500 US alienware gift card from eviltuna on the BST forum:

http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=388425

I received a screenshot of the credit, and we agreed to a $1200 Cdn EMT in exchange for the $1500 US. I verified the credit after I received it last week, and went ahead with a purchase last Fri. There were a couple of days of delay in processing the order, and when I talked with Alienware today, they said the gift card was no longer valid because the CC used to buy the gift card has been reported as stolen!!

I have sent a PM to eviltuna - he has been a member of RFD since 2002, and has previously sold on the forum before in BST.

What should be my next step?
Do I have any recourse to recover my money if he doesn't comply/if I was scammed?

Thanks.

It was EMT unfortunately - I called my bank this morning and they said they can't do anything from their end since it's like sending cash so I'm worried I'm up the creek. I know he got my PM about the problem, but there's been no reply.

Report it to the police, as they can charge him with CC fraud. Hopefully you kept a record of all the emails, PM's, and the EMT reciept. Unless he voluntarily gives you back the money (which is unlikely), the only option is to take him to small claims court. I assume you have his real name, address and checked out his heatware or refs?

the guy hasn't said anything in this thread for 2 weeks ++ so I am guessing they resolved it..
but if not, $1200 is WORTH the trip to his door!!!!

I have been busy at work. No, it's still not resolved - all the contact info I have for him is fake. I think I'm SOL on this one - I've talked to the mods, so hopefully eviltuna and his IP address get banned.
