Hi all

I have applied for an appraiser job with BC Assessment and have been selected to write a pre-screen test, after which I will get an interview. One part of the test is an Excel competency test. While I've never taken a course in Excel, I have been using it for years, and would definitely consider myself to be an above average user. But like I said, I've never taken any courses in it, so I'm not sure what you need to know to be considered advanced. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions/examples of questions they might ask? Any websites out there that have some good tutorials of some of the more advanced aspects of Excel?

And while I'm at it, anyone here work for BC Assessment? :D

Thanks!

My wife took an Excel course quite a few years back (employer was footing the bill)... it was at Conestoga College (Kitchener, ON) and as I recall it was extremely basic - you might want to try checking with a local college to see what they offer...

some of those tests require you to do everything from the keyboard so keep that in mind. if you use the mouse, you don't get the points.

Just know the semi-advanced features: H & V-lookup, filters, pivot tables

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but that was EASY, all I had to with formulas was median, avg, and difference. I also had to change font type and size, and border a table. HA.
