Hey guys,
I'm going to Cuba with a friend for a week on april 21(the date is set), we're probably going to book a 7-day trip to varadero or havana. on selloffvacations.com right now, the cheapest price is around $650 before taxes.
I know that if you do last minute bookings, you save a lot, but I'm not quite willing to take that chance. Should I book the tickets ASAP or should i wait for a better time to do so, e.g. after spring break/march break? Any input would help.

It's either last minute (they need to fill rooms) or book 2 months in advance!!! Once the 2 month mark hits the prices tend to go up.

I booked a trip to Punta Cana and we were stalling waiting for a friend to decide and the price went up $150 the weekend after the 2 month mark. >:(

Try to use travelmix.ca and price match with itravel2000. If you don't mind which resort to go or what star level you'll get, then you can try to wait till 2 weeks before, but no guarantee. My friend went in Nov and booked their package two weeks before and got Melia Cayo Santa Maria 5 star resort for $600 per person tax inclusive, not bad. You may have to be flexible with your date in order to do so.
