infonec.com has the OCZ Rally 2 on retail for $39.00 w/ the $14.00 mail in rebate.

I price matched this to NCIX so I could pick it up locally.

Supposed to work with Windows Vista ReadyBoost.

I bought two of these before and they are pretty fast. Would definitely recommend this since the price is also very good. Although my mail in rebates took awhile to arrive, but they actually came after something like 12 weeks (the specify 8-12 weeks delivery time anyways).

It's a good stick, have one myself. But remember that this doesn't work with Readyboost.

Why do you say it won't work with Readyboost?

I guess some reviews say it doesn't work with readyboost.

let's end the confusion now: all OCZ sticks made after Nov '06 are ReadyBoost compatible.

would you pick the OCZ Rally2 or the Micron Gizmo! 2GB stick? both have dual channel memory, though the ocz has a metal shell while the Micron is plastic.

on a side note my OCZ Rally 1GB just died :( :( :(

^at least it has lifetime warranty.

$30 after rebate is pretty good i think.. Gonna try to get one after work.

I personally tested my OCZ Rally2 2GB stick with vista ultimate, no luck. But then I got it before Nov 06, not sure if what MrDisco said is true.

That's pretty much the going price.

BTW, ShopRBC.com (http://www.shoprbc.com/ca/shop/product_details.php?pid=18466) has it for $35 - $14MIR = $21.00

As the OP mentioned, you can probably PM this with NCIX if you are from the West Coast who can pick this up locally.. otherwise the shipping fees for NCIX might be a little cheaper also.

ordered one yesterday and have the rebate form filled out ready to go when the item comes in :)

I'd say this is a pretty hot deal, as long as i get the rebate back (which has been good soo far with bigger companies such as BFG, Linksys and what not so I hope OCZ does a good job and gives me the rebate :))

Thanks OP!

The device/warranty is usually less important than the data on the device, I say the reliability is most important.

Well mine failed!!!!!

After 3 weeks. USB 2.0 fails but USB 1.0 works ....go figure

I bought it because it has a lifetime warranty however how do you get it replaced. I'm starting to get the run around at OCZ.

Any suggestions anyone?,

It's their product, their responsibility, who else you going to go to?

ordered the Rally2 yesterday, arrived this morning. Pretty impressive when you consider that's with free shipping.

its not as thin as the original Rally and it shares the same design flaw - no place to hold the cap.

my Rally failed in the same way. works on 1.1, not on 2.0. i simply emailed OCZ and they sent me an RMA claim. i just have to mail in the stick and they will send me a new one. pretty easy.

goto bleeding edge (google bleeding edge ocz) and you'll find OCZ' support forum. email Steve or Eric and they'll direct you accordingly.

it will only work if CTY is a "Canadian National Rebate Participant" with OCZ. if not then you're just waiting a stamp.

This is true, all OCZ sticks manufactured after Nov 2006 are readyboost capable according to OCZ sources.

I never cared for it, I figure hey, if it's transferring files, it's working...*shrug*.

Just bought one 4GB version and tested.

Copying 3GB file over

OCZ Rally2 4GB takes about 4 mins
My friends' Sandisk Micro U3 4GB takes about 8 mins.

Very nice!

If you owned a business, when would you send a receipt for a product?

Well, what do you think?

:)

If I owned an online business I would send an online invoice when the product is ordered. I would also send an invoice with the product when it is shipped. Whether a print-out of an online invoice is good enough I have no clue. Even if I receive the invoice with the product in two weeks I can still mail in for the rebate as long as it is within 20 days, and they date it the date it was ordered and not when the funds were received.

Then again I rarely order anything on the internet, which is why I am asking.
