actually i bought a pair of these on boxing day for same price. does what it says it will do. used it in vegas during the ces. worked fine... dont expect 1km range on them, but certainly work from hotel to ground floor and down the street...good enough to keep in contact with someone in busy places.

unfortuneately it does use 3 AAA's per radio. and the radios do not have sub channels.

funny story with these....i took them on a recent trip to cuba. was detained in customs on way in, they were in my check in baggage, which i guess must have been xrayed. apparently communications gear is not allowed into cuba. funny thing is i had 100x more advanced stuff on me at the time like laptop, cell fone, xm satellite radio etc. guess they dont want radios falling into the hands of the local citizens?

weird...for 15 bux, these are probably worth buying again, batteries to fill em will add to the cost i guess.

btw, they were compatible with frs radio's that were much better than this one.

I dunno.... just seems like the range isn't great at all. Especially when a good set is only a little bit more money.
