Did a quick search, hope this isn't a repost.
Many of you know about the 50% off new retail games $29.99 promotion going on right now at BBV. They also have a 15% off new accessories, including those 1250 Microsoft Point Cards (great for us Canadians who have to pay a higher price for them >:( )... One year Xbox Live Gold Subscription cards were also available...

I found some PSP deals too - started a thread.
It looks like BBV is re-jigging its assortment of games. Looks like PSP is shrinking and DS/Wii are growing (makes sense). They have a ton of promos.

My Blockbuster has Wii Points card, but their regular price is 29.99. With the 15% off that would be 25.49$, which is more than Wal-Mart regular price anyway. Bought Microsoft Points card for 16.99, which is a good deal for this kind of item that is never on sale. They also have HD-DVD Player for 169.99 after the rebate.

I went to the one on Rimrock... Dufferin and just North of Sheppard... Went to check out some of the 50% off games, since it's one of the closer Game Rush Blockbusters... Was surprised to see that Point Cards were considered accessories :D. They had quite a few cards left, they keep them in a locked cabinet... Don't remember seeing any Wii cards, (don't have a Wii, didn't specifically check, so don't know for sure!).

last i checked, the MS MP points were $25 (yes, $5 higher than other retailer's reg. price @ $20 ea.)
remember that BBV also tends to keep MSRP's up there for quite a while too (even if other retailers have dropped the MSRP), so even after 15% off, it still might not be that hot/warm...
also, FS/BB sometimes have 20% off console accs. during their F&F or PC sales, which includes the MS MP point cards; their reg. price is $20, so that makes it $16

^ah yes... so it looks like there's s/b else to confirm that BBV does indeed have overpriced accs. ....

Oh nono... thats not what I meant. BBV does sell the 1250 point cards for $19.99, I got mine for $19.37 after tax.
Point cards in the US sell for 1600 points per $20USD... where as we only get 1250 points per $20 CAD... Works out so we pay an extra 10 cents per 100 points... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Points
Sorry for the confusion

hm... maybe *i* misunderstood what you said... :o
anyway, i'm +ve that the the last time i saw the MS MP points at BBV, they were $25. (vs. $20 at FS/BB/RCSS/WM/etc.)
my point being that BBV's reg. prices for console accs. and/or games are usually higher than other retailers like FS/BB
so unless the discount is big (like 25% off or more) at BBV, it might still be cheaper elsewhere on sale...

I saw the HD drive for sale @ the Sheppard and Dufferin for $199... don't see why they wouldn't give you 15% off on it, but you should probably call to check so you don't waste a trip...

You definitely do get 15% off the HD-DVD drive at Blockbuster. I was at my local store this past weekend and they mentioned even that has the discount.

I picked one up in Toronto ( Royal York & Dundas) last night after trading in a bunch of old dvds and a few games.
Glad I didn't pay (well not cash anyway) for it.
