As with most promos involving coupons, especially Dell, only the first round of draw gets good coupons. Once you have spread the word to other people, only the crappy coupons are given out.

Yes, originally the system went by normal price, not sale price..

So, two of the $19.00 Kingston flash drives on sale would only come to $38.00 in price.. But, the coupon would still work since the original price was $58.00.

If you got a $40.00/$50.00 coupon they would be free. Unfortunately it took me 240 tries to get a $40.00/$50.00 coupon, so I missed out.

Technically an extra 10% off isn't THAT hot. Sure, an FU 6400 for $1510 taxes inc. is pretty good, but Staples has cheaper comps.

Incidentally - the contest is being handled by launchfire, a separate promotions company and not by Dell itself. Cancelling coupon codes would probably be a major pain.

I suspect Dell is lucky that launchfire even went so far as to block tempinbox - cancelling the coupon codes from there seems unlikely to me but not entirely implausible.

Well RFD is making me poor today with all these good deals. So far I've picked up a canon li-ion battery for my camera, the 1GB Kingston USB key on sale, and a Belkin USB hub.

I also want to get some DDR2 667 sodimm memory. I figured this sale might make dell ram affordable, yet I can't actually find any sodimms at that speed for sale on their site! Copy and paste the code into notepad.... then enter on dell's website to see the value. You still have the 40% off... it just doesn't refresh when u click on dell's email link.

If you're looking at your prize details emails, that's why. It's just reading the cookie in your cache which would be the last coupon code you got. Open the original email for the scratch code and that will show you the correct coupon code and discount.

What I mean is, most people scratch it, see the $10 off or whatever, and immediately check the next one. However, when you input the coupon code on Dell's website (e.g. checkout), it can change. I got a $10 off that became a 10% PC code.

sparhawk seems to have this issue. It's likely due to the cache/cookies: it says you have X discount but it doesn't change when you change coupon codes. That's why I suggest applying every coupon to your cart: it may change, for better or worse.

This is what I think: The codes are all unique, but the discount it displays may not be the discount you actually get.

So try those $10 off again, guys. ;)

no i dont think it is like that it is either dell will cancel their order if it is losing a large some of profit on the order and they now put time limits on codes so that you cant stall and see what to buy. no i dont think it is like that it is either dell will cancel their order if it is losing a large some of profit on the order and they now put time limits on codes so that you cant stall and see what to buy. It is a simple marketing tactic put your ice cream behind the counter and let you shop and when you buy something it is yours but it is melting so you buy more quickly and not think about what you are buying but more about the ice cream melting and having nothing left.

If you read the ToS, it shows that Dell only put out a certain amount of codes. So there were only a certain amount of 50%s. If there were 10 and 6 were already taken, only 4 were left. So they're losing nothing more than they thought about before the contest.

Turns out they got them reversed. The coupon for the PC is really the accessories and the accessories is really the PC. That would explain why the PC coupon is getting the frequency as the accessories should be getting.

had my server running the macros, and automated the entire process...found the easiest way to do it was to screencap the coupons, and every hour i would just scan through the pics to take the best coupons...was pretty funny actually, like a little dell coupon assembly line! Nice, I got 1500 macroing but I stopped last night at 5am (only ran it for 4 hours I'd guess) and had a catch-all setup on my $4/yr dreamhost server :)

But I just went into my e-mail and opened like 200 firefox tabs and used ctrl-w as i moved the mouse over the numbers.

so any dummies guide on how to set something like that up?
