So I got my marks and I did pretty good :)

So Im done 6 courses including Data and English and I have exactly a 90 average.

So what are the odds of me getting into the following programs provided my supplementary forms are decent.

1. Schullich
2. UofT/UTM
3. Queens
4. Waterloo Public Accounting
5. Wilfrid Laurier

sorry for starting another thread like this but I couldnt resist

I'm tired of these people posting threads of how they got 90% (show offs...) and then they ask if they can get into certain Universities.

If you did JUST a little look around you can find at least 20 threads like these... and at least 1 will have the answer to your question ...

(sorry but I'm just tired of seeing this threads with high marks and people asking if they have a chance, you have high marks and all you need are some extra curricular activities and you'll be set).

i think it would be best if someone started a thread about odds of getting in because it is obvious that there should be one

schudlich unlikely (unless you have a good supplementary and few crazy 90s)....UTM for sure....for UTSG what is your english and calc marks above 85 or 87? For queens you will pass the first rnd matters on your supplementary from there.....

AFM when you writing your assignment?

youll get into WLU if you have a 70 in calc...have you visited WLU yet?

ok make sure you visit all the schools, all are good schools, programs....though AFM is very accounting focused and specialized.......your calc mark is the most important but based on your other marks you will get in everywhere except Queens/Schudlich maybe not...i know both schools this year saw a applications spike...as did almost all ontario schools

if you have any specific questions about UW or WLU feel free to msg me

I think this is the 1st year...kind of pointless when they ask for the AIF as well.

its called everyone wanting to be a CA...and they are getting way too many applicants, so they need a new way to filter ppl....anyone who is serious about accounting should be able to do well i would think......

the AIF is totally diff, that doesnt challenege how serious and amount of knowledge of accounting you have....

i think i read on this forum that someone said that a lot of the people in that program have communication problems.

i mean there are a lot of asian people that are amazing at math and science but struggle with english.

so this is probly just another way to filter out people like adehbone said

What rey1867 said is correct. Bone, it has nothing to do with accounting, the questions are along the lines of "Why did you choose this program?". Pure communications. I'm not even bothering to go to the AFMAA (was invited) as I like the flexibility of a general business degree over pure accounting.

People should really stop with these posts, because chances are none of us here will be deciding if you get in or not. Go apply and you'll find out if you get in or not.

theres already a whole freakin book out on it called infobook.
they give % cut offs and recommended % you should get... including other criteria.

sometimes questions like this makes me think that freakin kids dont read these days!
dont they hand those books out to you on university application orientation assembly day?!

It changes year from year. Most people who are applying are born in '89 (or 88) we might be dumber or smarter than then the '88's (or '87s)...who knows. BTW, I remember hearing that this year there was a 5% spike in applicants.

Who cares? I use that 'good' in place of 'well' all the time.

Your chances of getting in any of those business schools are great but it is highly dependent on ur suplimentary (as you already know).

Assuming you get into all of your choices, which program(s) are you leaning towards?

I'm a comm '09 at Queens and would be happy to provide info.

i did ok but there are only 160 spots for more than 2000 applicants

lmao. i was there too today. INSANE. friggin insane. DC was completely packed :| the thing is, afmaa wasn't so bad: keep in mind that many people do not really have a strong leadership experience.

what was surprising is the amount of girls there. def better than the 1:5 ratio i was afraid of, and god were they hawt. which room were you in? if you were in the A-(some letter) section, I was the guy who went up all freaked out about the ouac number section on the blue card, lol.

btw. i really had to pee during the exam, and i think i scared the cutee girl next to me. you see, like any other cheapass rfd'er, i literally had 6 diet cokes before the exam, on account of it being free. also, those danishes were awesome. i had a strawberry one, and one that was yellow. ill admit, i have no idea what yellow tasted like, but the frosting was good.

+1:razz:

I'm sure a guy with a 90% average has done enough research to find out his odds of getting into schools of his choice. AND YOU YOURSELF know personally that you did good with a 90 and stand a good chance of getting admitted, yet you still post!

(This is just my opinion) But yea i say you should get in :o

The schulich entering average was 92% during my year. It went down the year after to like 87% or something.

you should get in with a 90%. If not, you'll be put on the waiting list.
