$120 for 320GB is overpriced? Unless you guys bought the 250GB for $100 or the 500GB for $200, I've never seen a 320GB for that price before.

FS has it for $150:

Buy a 320GB 7200.10 Seagate drive and a Vantec Nexstar3 enclosure. Works out to about the same price, and you get a better drive and better enclosure.

I have never seen (heard of) a HD crashing multiple times.
Maybe you need to define what crash means to you.

I thought a HDD crashed once, and that's the end of it. How did it "always crash"?

what i mean is all my memory was lost (couldn't even access to my hd directory), and then there's a pop up which ask me to format my hd again. Sorry that I use the wrong term. Good luck.

Where did you see it for $150 ?

The email I just got says $199.99 after rebates.

Take his words as a warning. Many of you don't realize that the case (and its hardware inside) plays an important role in ensuring your data is stored and can be read/played back properly.

I can't believe there's been this many replies and nobody has posted a link.

It's $180 -$30 MIR = $150, at least in the GVR: http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?CatIds=&webid=668019&affixedcode=WW

Which makes this deal flat-out cold! Even FS is cheaper

I got this when Futureshop had it on for 149.99 and staples had it for 209.99. I pricematched, and Im still waiting for the rebate. (I dont think they were the same tho, Staples one was better, was hybrid-drive, something like that), either way

So my final price would be 134, with taxes in.

Nice harddrive, quiet, I dont thnk it turns off by itself, not that I have noticed it. Its a WD inside. Comes with a backup software installed, many free programs, opendocument, mozilla, etc

I liked the password protection. Everytime I restart the HDD, it asks for password, then mounts it.

Good price still!

I have a smaller version of this drive (using firewire). I backup my networked computers to this drive. I do not backup everything - only my documents, application data, save games, etc. I have used it for almost 2 years and it has worked flawlessly.

BTW, I use SyncBackSE to do the backups, excellent software.

staples is funny
They have the drive under two links

$180 - $30 rebate = $150 (http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?webid=668019&catIds=%2C&affixedcode=WW)
and under
$230 - $30 rebate = 200 (http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?webid=668019&CatIds=&AffixedCode=A3&=&MSCSProfile=3C79F0C7EA3162B289A6F3317CC124D8C09CC7 603C33D24412B56CBECD3C37E4A821B8EC9BD0B1E9B40AE1B0 362F7C32E2EBDFB7BB11DB19CFCE6CCD3587BBC54C98C2A6C5 78E2BE75379FD3122A7C924AC9D4FD932085A75656032CCB23 C02C8157D6F98A2F419EE82ADAFBF98E0C692497E2E01DBCFB AE6DAC661B98A50460677869B0DE012D08)

Same item number same details everything just different prices.
Both of them cold, but the higher one is better for price matching.
And the OP said it was only $120.
OP you still there? What link do you have?

If you are going to buy this you could use one of the $20 off $200 coupons from this thread (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=389024) to get $20 worth of filler for free. If there is something for $20 that you would be buying anyways that might make this a little warmer...

I got this exact same drive a few months back for $135 + taxes at FS (after coupon $15OFF$150).

Works perfect, super-quiet and has a solid ventilated aluminium case. I haven't setup any of the software or password-protection features, but I imagine it's a nice bonus for those who want it.
