Hey all,

I currently have a job (Elec Eng. related) but i'm looking to upgrade my skills and get into a field that interests me more. I have some experience drafting with AutoCAD, and I'd like to get into a field where I can do some mechanical modeling using CAD software.

I have two questions:
1. What kinds of jobs out there are available for people who have mechanical drafting skills? I've done some cursory Googling, but I'm looking for something along the lines of consulting or doing freelance stuff. Is there a market for freelance work of this type?

2. I'm probably going to be taking some courses at Seneca (or any other institution that offers courses in CAD software). What kinds of software should I be looking at learning (I only know of Solidworks and Catia), but I don't know of any place that I could learn Catia at (Seneca does Solidworks I think). Is there other software out there that would be good to learn?

Thanks!
