Running windows XP at home and was just wandering if there is anyway that I can lock a particular folder so that no one who has access to the computer can enter into the folder without a password.
If there is such an option, please give full details as computer and I don't mix very well.

The simplest method is to set a password for the admininstrator account and make other people access the computer with a non-admin account. Keep your private folder under the admin account. However, this method is not secure and can be bypassed with a little hacking knowledge.
WinXP Pro has built-in file and folder encryption. Doesn't help if you have WinXP Home, and it's not professional-level security.
There are many commercial and free security products that will encrypt with a higher level of security, such as 256-bit AES, or 1024-bit RSA. WinZip has 256-bit AES encryption for compressed archives (not in the free version though). I've also used PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), which has 1024-bit RSA. And there's also TrueCrypt, which creates encrypted private volumes with a choice of different encryption algorithms (caution: TrueCrypt volumes stay mounted if you suspend/resume or hibernate your computer instead of turning it off).

i used a program before called "Hide Folder XP" just try googlin it.
what it does, once u start the program it lets u pick a folder and select it, pick a password and it completely hides the folder from the drive. until u tell it to unhide it then u can just use it like any other folder.

simply hide the folder(folder properties -> hide)
then apply 'do not show hidden folder' option
if you wanna go even further, change the file extantion to something random
and just change back to .avi, .mpg whatever when you want to watch it
most avg ppl wont know what it is
