Hi,

I'm thinking of getting 1 of these 3 brands in the summer.

I was wondering which one would be the best bang for the buck for a 1080p LCD TV.

Does Sony have a 40" XBR Bravia? Does Sharp have a 40" Aquos? I've heard Samsung and Sharp Aquos are better atm.

Thanks for any feedback.

The Sony and Samsungs currently have clouding problems. The Sharps have banding problems. Make sure if you buy any of these three, you buy from a store that allows returns. Because some people go through 1,2,or even 3 returns before they get a set that looks right. Sharp just released the D92 series which should be superior, but they might not have cured the banding problems.

I've looked at all three and there really isn't much difference between the three in terms of picture quality *once* properly calibrated. You can't really go to a store and judge them because the settings are usually completely off.

Also, consider if you actually need a 1080P set. Your eye can't distinguish 720P from 1080P at viewing distances of more than 6 feet away

Which ever one is the cheapest, get it;)

All 3 are good if your talking about their top of the line models but i find that sharp is the cheapest, usually...

Also yes even if the tv model isn't known for banding/clouding etc. its still wise to buy one from a place that allows returns.

Haha thanks for the feedback.

Just to clear things up, I'm looking for at least a 40" 1080p LCD TV. Thanks!
