what kind of device can do that ?Windows 98 and above can easily handle 9 (might even have been 16 for win98) monitors, assuming you can wedge enough video cards into your system. Matrox even sold a 3 monitor video card at one point.

Just running one Samsung 225BW, 22" widescreen, seems more practical now to have one wide then 2 mons. less desk space, killer gaming

The laptop has its own LCD. The CRT and other LCD are on a desktop. However I have had 3 monitors on the desktop. All you have to have is more graphic cards.

Dual 24" Dells with a KVM on one. That way I can toggle back and forth to my server or any other PCs I am building repairing at the time. One of the inputs on the KVM is to the other output on my 7800GTX so that I can enjoy a huge desktop as well as access all the other PCs.

how many of these "brag your setup" thread do we need?

Two. One I use exclusively for vmware/TS to my other machines.
Also helps having two when coding (one window for code, other for debugger).

the difference with that set up is that you can tell it's for a special purpose -- music.
I have 3 monitors on my desk all on the same machine just for the sake of having a different window for every application... it's excessive
now i'm thinking of going four monitors, but then i'd have to mount them as i have no desk space left

I sit in front of three monitors. Two for a desktop workstation and one for a laptop (if you count).;)

currently 4 monitors. Dual 19" WS LCDs for my main rig (one of which I unplug and use on "project" pcs), one 17" CRT toggling between a Sun Ultra 5 and an old Linux box, and an old Toshiba Libretto laptop with a tiny 6 or 7" screen. (Just because it looks cool).

When you unplug one of the 19" WS LCDs for your project pc, doesnt the main PC have problems because some apps 'remember' where they are to be displayed and then they are offscreen?

Yeah, but I don't usually do it for long, and I don't run the most common apps on the second screen, so it's not a major issue. I have forgotten though and gone nuts trying to figure out why a program is open, yet I can't see it. I plan to pick up another LCD and KVM down the road, but I need to pick up another shelf for my desk first. (Ikea Jerker)

I have two video cards. The Two in the middle are running off of an ATI X800 PCI-Express via DVI to each one. The two side ones are running off an ATI Radeon 7000 PCI, with one on DVI and one on Analog ;)

that problem of not being able to find a program when it remembers its window position is the primary reason i dont run dual head anymore, i like to move things around and hook up different machines and then a dual head might go to a single head and before you know it i cant find apps on the screen
what i do now is one screen per computer and hook em all up with synergy2 (one keyboard and mouse) thru network, its fantastic and if one computer goes down i can still get my fix :D

Only one
But it's a Westinghouse 37W1 (1080P)
Wait for W3 people be damned, my only regret was not picking this up when it was cheaper (999 with coupons)
Even at the 1099 I paid, it's damn worth it
