Force resolution?

Hello everyone.

So I just got back my Samsung LN-R237W and I am using it for my PC and my xbox 360. So far the max resolution I can use on this monitor is 1280 x 720. This resolution makes everything on the screen oversized and big. Does anyone know of any way around this. Can I possibly force a higher resolution on the screen. And if not could you please explain to me why not. Thanks alot!!

is it that resolution when you're using the pc as well, or just when you use xbox 360?

no sorry maybe i wasn't clear. The screen is perfect on the 360. I mean what can I do with the resolution for the PC. Like to force a higher resolution
