Hey,
Well i recently contacted a local Nissan delaership (new but well established founding company) about an Infiniti G35 for sale. The senior sales associate told me the vehicle is unavailable but mentioned that he would be able to acquire me an Infiniti G35 via the auction route for the price i wanted initially. He told me who would bring a list of vehicles to me, and after we decide which vehicle i want, they would place a bid on my behalf and charge a nominal fee for their serivce. He said that they will be apply to any warranty to the car (Infiniti, Nissan, etc.) and will have the car serviced and inspected by their dealership. If there is an issue with the vehicle (scratch that was not mentioned) they will refund my deposit. Also the cars are guranteed to be free of mechanical issues. If i decide to back out after the car has been purchased, my deposit will be non refundable.
My question is what is your input on this subject?
What should i ask for before the purchase ( i don't think the auctions vehicle will be able to be test driven)?
Anyone also go a similar route?
Any input appreciated!!! :) !

Around heere, dealers send off cars to the auction that they can't sell on their own lots - off lease car that has been abused, sat too long with no interest, fairly significant accident damaged car that has been repaired, etc.
I suspect the Winnipeg area is not that different, unless their is a poor market for a G35.

Actually, some lease returns go to auction automatically and only end up on the dealer lots after that - although depending on the center, they may be "private" auctions - IE, only for Nissan, GM, ford, whatever dealers.
It's possible. Never done it myself, but doesn't necessarily sound fishy to me. What is the "fee" they'll charge? Can you be assured they won't charge you this "fee" AND a mark up?

Hmm yeah i was thinking about that. He told me the cars will be available from all over the country and the states (some from Quebec and Ontario). He also mentioned that some cars are put to auctions that were trade ins say at a Mercedes Dealership where they simply won't keep a car like the G35 and send it to the auctions. He told me no vehicle will have extensive damage, and all will be covered up the warranty. I will also have the opportunity to do a VIN check and do my own personal checks on the vehicle history along with theirs. Also if anything is wrong with that car, the Nissan dealership can send it back to them with no cost to us. I will find more information. Thnx for the feedback.

This will be an exclusive dealership auction so it is not open to the public. I spoke to the salesman and told me they will charge their own fee but it will be alot cheaper since they will not have to pay for storage and selling the vehicle. I will definately find out "the finder fees" since its not a great deal when you pay 26k for the car, and 4k in finders fee:mad: Emailing him right now. Thnx for your input!

Salesman msged me back. Told me he will never, under any circumstance find me a written off vehicle or a car that has been in a frame damage accident. He will provide me with vehicles that have been in no accidents, and i have the option of looking at vehicles in light damage accidents. They will also safety the vehicle for me along with servicing it. Im assuming they are going this route because not many people in Winnipeg have G35C, and purchasing one for the dealership might provide to be a very long sale (like the prior one listed).
