View Full Version : How to get more traffic to a blog?

I have just a standard blog and traffic to the site has been slowly raising over the past year or so. There was a huge spike in traffic at the beginning of the month, after I posted on January 7th with the story of how I met my girlfriend (can be found on my site linked in my sig).

I'm wondering if I could get the number of visitors to raise even more, but I have no idea what to do. Are their sites where I should register my page?

Any advise and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Make it interesting?

Stop thinking that your boring life deserves an audience?

First, post reported for blatant thread crap.

Second, I never said my life's interesting enough for a huge audience. The bottom line is that I'm now at over 300 unique (bots and other such hits are not counted in this total) visitors a day. There are interested people out there. All I want is to see if just how high that number can go. Call it an experiment if you will. I know how to market corporate sites, but that's ridiculous when it comes to something like this.

A bunch of people are hitting the site from web searches. I know this not only by my server logs, but also from e-mails I've received from people who're now regularly reading the site. If there's any other way to easily make the site known, I'm going to try it and see what happens. I don't care if people find it interesting. If they do, great. If not, they can go to another site.

Eh, hes got a point. As for threadcraping, hardly. Maybe add some new content to your blog; something other than your life?

If people are interested in his blog, than why is everyone commig on this thread and barking?

Whats your business?

He has a blog(as so do millions) and wants his thoughts out there(just like millions).

To the OP: I suggest you signing up with declicious and digg and other social bookmarking sites.

Also, blogspot has a new blog thing. Its like really easy to configure. Drag and drop and stuff like that.

Its about making money from a blog, but what that really translates to is bringing in more traffic.
