I am conducting a survey to find the opinions from Canadian residents on crime. This data will be used to help me write a report on Crime and Punishment for my Challenge and Change class, which teaches us about the Social, Psychological and Anthropological behaviours of humans. I think its in place to keep offenders relativly clean and keep dumb things they do in young life from not following them forever, that being said, it makes those under 18 almost untouchable from a legal aspect, meanwhile that of a functioning 10-14 year old understands his or her decisions, and some legal consequence needs to be in place to give some satisfaction to anyone harmed by someone under 18 yet is considered "too young and senseless to know any better"

Other: since the government believes minors are not fully competent and responsible for their actions, the YJA was created to treat young offenders differently.... in a more remedial rather than punitive way.
