The first few years of UNI Ive done the sublet thing and always lost money giving people a deal for the summer. Once again im moving out of the city this time for good but my lease doesnt expire until september and I want to move in may.
I wondered what the grounds are to get out of a lease early, any legal experts want to share? I have a list of complaints a mile long about my building but none are really that serious... Although it was recently taken over by a new company and I wonder if my lease is still binding as I never signed anything to the new management company.

Yes your lease is still binding if a new managment company takes over.To break the lease the comlaints need to be some what serious. If there are issues with your apt and there are serious that would get you out of the lease. However if it is the building it self that is a different ball game and really would not be ground to break the lease.

A few years ago I got out of my lease by saying my company had transferred me (not true). They asked me for a letter from my HR dept. to confirm this, so I made one up and had my cousin sign it and gave them her name and home # in case they checked it out. They never checked and I got out of my lease no problem. Worked for me. I can't remember what property management company it was, the building was Enfield Place in Mississauga.
