Finally have something to contribute.
Futureshop link ($79.97):

Staples Link ($175.99)

No online stock for Futureshop, but was showing stock at some stores.

The price would be $70.37 plus tax after the PM. Problem is Staples policy states the PM is to a maximum of $50.
This same UPS was on sale for $50 at FS on Boxing Day. This is warm at best.

Staples policy does state a max of $50. From what I have learned on RFD, it's a max difference of $500 @ 10% which is $50.
example (this is a fake example):
FS item is $2000
Staples item is $4000
They will give you max amount of $50 and reduce the price to $1950. If there was no max it would be a $200 PM or a price of $1800.
This $50 came in to use when Staples had the 150% PM.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

FYI these were $49.99 during Boxing Day. Very good and solid unit. I suspect Futureshop stocked too many and that's why they are on sale now, since the 900VA model is not regularly stocked.

This might be warm "at best" but sheesh you can't be anymore cold?

I belive the $50 is referring to the 10% difference, which means, if the difference is over $500, they will only give you a maximum discount of $50.

Thats what anticupid means when he says max of $50. They will discount to a maximum of $50.
As for the boxing day sale... you cant compare regular sale items to boxing day sale items. This is a great deal since boxing day is ONLY available 1 day out of an entire year.
