For those that can't find the Verbatims @ FS as posted in another thread, this doesn't seem too bad a deal.
I've never burned Fuji media so I can't comment on quality.
Regular Price: $49.99, now $19.99 until Jan 28th

Fujifilm DL suck. I have 4 DVD burners and neither of them can burn Fujifilm worth a damn. I have a Benq, Dell, Pioneer and LG drives. Fujifilm DVD-R and DVD+R all work fien for me, just the DL suck.
I only use Verbatim now.

~$1.33/disc.
that's more $$$ than FS's current sale on the Verbatim 20pks for $25 ($1.25/disc)... not to mention MUCH higher quality...

We're only talking about 8 cents extra per disc.....$1.20 for the spindle. Not a HUGE difference.
Definitely they don't compare to the Verbatims in quality.....if you can still get them.

I've burned the Fuji DLs on a Pioneer 111 (2.4x) and Plextor 755 (4x). Both are about the same quality. The number of PIEs are 3.5x on the second layer. Compare that to Verbatims on a Pioneer, where it is only 1.5x on the second layer.
Anyways, the Fujis played without a hitch on my Malata.

Placed an order in late Dec for the last Verbatim $4.99 deal, online status still showing "Preparing order" now.
Placed an order yesterday for this Fujifilm deal (as I couldn't get the FS Verbatim deal), received email today saying "Backorder" and expected shipping is Feb 17.
WTF with The Source?
Gonna cancel my order now. Terrible expereince w/ Source.

Best Buy carries these and they will beat it by 10% so these are only 17.49 at Best Buy.
I use the Fujifilm DL all the time and they work great.

But as Source doesn't have stock now, I doubt BB will pricematch it.

Same for my player and unlike the Verbatim's I don't keep getting coasters when burning them.
Bucking the trend from the posters above Fuji's have always been fine burning.

as long as any of your local TS B&M(s) have it instock, PMing shouldn't be a prblm. :)
btw, i believe FS carries these also

well if you were to buy any kind of blank media, the last place you'd look would be LD lol :P
BTW, you need to remove that link b/c i don't believe those links are allowed on here ;)

I don't exactly know what's the big deal about verbatim product....
I bought a 100 spindles dvd+r . I have used about half of that package and 3 or 4 of them cannot be burned or recognized as a blank dvd by my 4 burners.
I never had such problem before... even with the cheaper brand
Anyways I picked up a pack of fuji DL dvd at the source. And from past experience they work fine

no retailer in Canada is charging a levy on DVD's... only LD advertises a levy charge for CD-R's/MD's/VHS's/etc.,... all other retailers like FS/BB/stooples don't advertise it, but the price they sell the blank media at already includes the levy....

HD movies are not true HD if they are only 8GB... you would have to burn them on HDDVD or BluRay...

Ordered on Monday
Picked it up on Wednesday
Fast service!!! and actually WORKS!! unlike stupid BB which never works for online order and pickup in store.
Try the media on my NEC ND-3520 with 3rd party firmware. All failed at 2nd layer.
Will try that on a Pioneer later on.

i had the same result with my ND-3500 with Memorex DVDRs, used maybe 10 different modified firmwares and coastered almost 15 dvds... it must be the ritek dye thats used on memorex and fuji disks...
I now have 45 more Memorex DL DVD+R's i don't know what to do with (was on sale for $50 on boxing day)
maybe i'll make one of those cool lamps out of them :P

This is not true at all. High definition is just a resolution. For example, EVDs are high definition, and they are D9s.

Futureshop had been carrying these discs at the same price for the last couple of months.
I was in FS this week and could only find Memorex, but good price 50 for $59.

Ice.Age.The.Meltdown.2006.HDTV.720p.AC3.5.1.x264-PROGRESS
It says AC3, 5.1 I'm assuming it's Dolby Digital 5.1
High Definition is not only defined as 720p, but also as DTS Surrond. A movie that has 720p without DTS surrond is NOT HD.
Plus, it's only 91 minutes long, regular movies at around 2 hours or more, and cartoons require less capacity than non-animated movies.
