Hey I know quite a number of RFDers bought one of these babies and I was wondering if any of you have tried overclocking the card. To my surprise my 7950GT was able to OC to 650/800 (Core/Mem) which is the stock speeds of a 7900GTX but I'm getting somewhat high temperatures.

Will a max load temp of about 86C-87C damage my card or cause it to overheat? I've looped the HDR/SM3.0 tests in 3DMark06 for about half an hour and didn't notice any artifacts. I have a feeling that since the nVidia Control Panel is supposed to throttle at 130C that this would still be somewhat acceptable.

I've thought about increasing the fan speed from the stock 30% in 3D mode to 50% but when I used RivaTuner to increase it to 50%, it wouldn't change the fan speed even though I had applied + saved the settings.

Any feedback on how much heat a GPU can withstand or how to get the fan to run faster?

Thanks.
