I simply want a video card (pci-e) that will output to my tv (Samsung LNS3292)
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10077861&catid=23521
I just want something that will output 1:1, and play some strategy games (no FPS etc). Looking at price range of 100-150.
Any help is appreciated.

That TV is only 1366x768, so a 7600GT should suffice. About $130 after rebate at NCIX right now.

That's up to the TV/monitor, I believe.

How can you tell if your TV will do 1:1 ?
I thought it was a simple resolution match videocard->tv ?

well, i've been doing my research on this and it's driving me nuts! my lcd panel supports 1080p and i want a video card that can support that and can play some decent games. there isn't as much discussion on the web as of yet since 1080p is new and manufacturers getting ready for dx10. here is a basic guide on when doing your search for a good video card and what to look for:
-on tigerdirect when looking in the description of the VC, make sure it says HTDV "supports wmv9 1080p etc)
-for a video card to be able to run apps, vids and games at 1080p make sure it has at least 256mb ram and a minimum of 12 pipelines
my list of video cards that i've considered purchasing:
evga 7600 gs oc 256mb $165.99 (tigerdirect.ca)
bfg 7600 gs oc 512mb $159.99 (after rebate at futureshop)
xfx 7600 gs oc 256mb $159.99 (i think on tigerdirect)
evga has a memory clock of 800mhz, the rest are all 500mhz. if i can remember, that's probably the only difference. the bfg card seems like a really good buy because it has 512mb ram, but i've heard enough negative feedback online to keep me away from it. it's got 512mb but the video card is not fast enough to efficiently make use of all the memory.
i'm just thinking of waiting til dx10 comes out and more video cards start to support 1080p.
well, that's about all i know so far :) if anyone can add more info, that'd be great. feel free to correct any info that i might have listed incorrectly.
