Hey guys/gals,
Im new to this whole HDTV business, and had a quick question which hopefully someone out there might know the answer too.
I recently got the Samsung LNS3251D 32" LCD HDTV and hooked everything up and is up and running. Except for 1 thing. Thats trying to plug in the cable from my pc to the tv to make it my monitor. I plugged in my cables and when I checked to see if it had worked, it said "No signal"
My question is, do I need a certain type of Monitor cable for my TV to establish a working signal and finally be able to make it work?
If anyone could shed any light on this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thx in advance.

You should try hooking up through the PC input (VGA cable will work) If your video card has HD out then you should be able to hook up using component video.

Thanks for replying :) I used my vga cable that came with my lcd monitor...and tried that on my LCD TV but didn't work. By component Video, did you mean the cables? the red, yellow and white component cables?
Unfortunately, my pc doesn't have any in/outs for those.
Apparently on the Samsung site, they mentioned something about a "D-sub" cable? is that different from a VGA cable?

Darn, that should have worked... D-Sub is just referring to the way that the connector is shaped (D shaped) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-subminiature they are used for all sorts of things. Component video is the analog version of an HDMI input. (Y/Pb/Pr Red Green and Blue). I do what you are trying to do all the time on my Sony LCD HDTV, but it works right away. Yours should be working find. I'm off to do some looking into this...

Again, thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. Yeah I thought it was also funny how my tv wasn't receiving the signal from my PC... i mean it's easy enough to hook up. The vga cable and a line for the audio...and thats it?

My current lcd monitor resolution is at 1680x1050.
If I change the Res on my computer to 1366x768, my tv should then be able to recognize it? Again, my appologies, im new to this stuff lol. :cheesygri

it should work after doing this...read your manual and find out what the native resolution for your TV is and set you pc to this first...the above resolution sounds right though.

yes.
are you trying to run both at the same time? if so, you will need to enable that resolution on your secondary display options.
