Hey guys, I found what looks to be a good Seanix laptop for $999.99 (reg price says $1599.99).

Intel Core Duo (not Core 2 Duo) at 1.66 GHz each (I think one is 1.33 GHz)
ATI Radeon X1600
1 GB of RAM
100 or something GB HDD.

Seems like a good deal to me. Is Seanix good? Also, I have a question that's a be newbish about dual core processors. Can programs that don't benefit from two cores use them both at the same time to run better? For example, can a program use two 1.66s for something close to a 3.33 GHz processor?

Model is an ABJ248B1, I can't find it anywhere on Google.

never heard of seanix, but to you second question, no. A faster single core processor will be better than a slower dual core processor for programs designed for single threaded application. Regardless, you should still be looking at dual core.

Seanix is a Canadian brand. I have a desktop from them from 2 years ago and I am very happy with it. I don't really want to go to a laptop from it because it's given me absolutely zero problems, but I need something I can take to school and clearing up desk space would be nice. I just want to know if their laptops are good. I haven't seen any laptop with a graphics card that good for this price. Most laptops under $1000 have an integrated one.

Thats a sweet deal, where did you find it? Is the processor Core Duo or Core 2? Core 2 is more efficient and faster.

It was A&B Sound. It was a Core Duo, not Core 2 Duo. Anyway, I went to the downtown location because the Capilano Mall location only had an open box. But the downtown location had an integrated graphics card for some reason. It's a 17" so it's too big anyway =/
